After summer winds down and the leaves begin to change, the October Magic® Snow™ Camellia from the Southern Living Plant Collection snaps into action. The Snow produces a crisp white double bloom that is delicately edged with magenta. These frilled snowy blossoms appear in droves once autumn rolls around and they stay blooming throughout the fall while the rest of the landscape is asleep. As the symphony of blooms rolls in, they are set upon the backdrop of deep emerald green foliage that makes the elegant white flowers stand out stunningly. This Camellia has a well-kept secret that waits until spring to reveal, new growth appears in a bronzy copper hue that reinvents this shrub for the new season. In addition, this evergreen has a uniform, columnar habit that makes maintenance incredibly simple. To keep your Camellia happy and healthy, plant it in slightly acidic soil and apply a slow-release granular fertilizer in early spring.
